- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)were eaten, as is still the case. A potful of eggs was boiled and each person, who came along, ate as many as he wished, till they were all finished. At Christmas the people used a great deal of salted meat and vegetables. A couple of hours before dinner a large pot of broth was made ready, and dumplings were made from flour, salt, and sweetmilk and boiled in the broth and, when cooked, were taken out and put on saucers and given to the people to eat.
