    Local Cures Continued
A cure for "stangs" on the eyes is ten gooseberry jags
The jags are picked in the morning and the curer says to the person who has the stangs "Stand back or I will dab it in you" The tenth jag has to be thrown over the right shoulder to show that the stang has been cured. A cure for warts is nine knots of straw. Each straw is made in the shape of the cross on each wart and it is cured.
"Huasleek" which is found on the eaves of certain houses is a cure for sore eyes.
We already said that Margaret Duffy has a cure for "momps"
The way she cures them is she puts a pair of branks and leads the person to river and gives him three sips of the water. This cure has been given to nearly every-body suffering from "momps"
Green ivy is a good cure for corns on the feet.
