There is a treasure supposed to be hidden in Mona Brathair near the ruins of an old house. It was placed there by the monks in the year 1691. Attempts have been made to find it. It consists of a valuable bell which was metal with a silver tongue on it. The bell belonged to the monks of Kilconnell abbey, and it could be heard ringing seven miles away. People say it is worth one hundred pounds.
