Ar an leathanach seo

    were made by the local blacksmith. There has to be great care given to the potatoes, they have to be moulded and sprayed twice at least. Spraying is the most important thing that has to be done to this important crop because it keeps the crop clean and also keeps the blight away.
    Why I say the potato was such an important crop because when the potato crop failed in the year eighteen forty five there was a famine. There are two kinds of potatoes 'early' and 'late potatoes. The early potatoes has to be dug in July and the ones has to be dug during the month of October and stored in pits for the winter.
    Those pits are made in clay and scraws so that they will avoid the frost, the champion is the nicest potato for the table use and secondly the Golden wonders, Aran chifs (?) and Aran banners are not fit for table use but they are the best that grows in the district.
