About 35 years ago a man named Johnny Madden employed two men to clear a "scrub" - a place covered with hazel bushes. The roots of each clumb a hazel has spread wide in the sand. When lifting one clump they found a skeleton underneath. As the graveyard was near they asked Madden to let them bury the bones there. He said he would not waste the time.
