   How dull and lonely the country side would feel without our featered friends. In the morning when we awaken from our slumber we have nothing to cheer us, but the sweet singing of our feathered friends.
   If we rise early on a Spring's morning we can find the birds busily engaged in bringing moss and sticks for the purpose of building their nests. The little wren is a very hardworking bird, and she builds a very cosy nests in a big bush. It is very hard to get at the wren's nest because she builds it in the centre of a bush. The little wren lays seven or eight eggs, and indeed we must say she has a very hard time feeding all the young ones.
   The cuckoo is a very lazy bird
