  1. There are two Holy wells in the Parish. One is situated in Clerhanbeg in a field adjoining the school.
People visit it on 8th March to perform prayers. The 8th of March is "Pattern Day". They also go there for the cure of toothache. It is specially recommended for the cure of Nuralgia and Toothache. For the above cures a station is made the face is washed with the water and a piece of clothing is tied on the bush over it. There are no fish in the well. It never runs dry. Monday and Thursday are visiting days. The tree which grows over it is very old and branches cut from it will not burn. The well is named after St. Boithí (?). In former times a monastery was situated in this field. Priests were ordained. The monastery was a branch of Fenagh. It is said that the Danes destroyed it on their journey from Ballyshannon to the Shannon. I don't know if there are any special prayers to be said at the station. Five (?) Our Fathers 5 Hail Marys are the chief prayers.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
