Men churn, Strangers always take a turn at the churn otherwise they would be accused of taking the butter.
Churning takes an hour.
It si done by hand.
The churn-dash is brought up and down.
When the butter is made the dash is clean.
Warm water is poured in to hasten the churning.
The butter is taken out with a strainer and put into a tub.
It is washed with spring water and rubbed with a wooden spoon to take out moats and hairs.
