- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)cliffs at Doon Bay, when a plank with the body of a sailor lashed on to it was washed ashore. He was very much decomposed and unrecognisable but judging from his teeth he was a young man. I called some people, who buried him at the foot of the cliffs inside the arch opposite the passage. His body was so decomposed he could not be removed from the plank for burial and both body and plank were buried. As well as I recollect, prayers were said over him by one of the Catholic Curates.Doon Bay

Thy sandhills, thy cliffs, and thy breakers' [?] loud roar,
In storm or in sunshine, ever weird,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
