In the townland of Leclasser Co. Sligo another treasure is supposed to be burried [sic]. The site of this treasure is next field to Drummons N.S. To the north west of the school is a hill which is called Líos. On this hill can be traced the remains of an old líos. It is on the N.E. side of this that a pot of gold is burried. There is a flag covering the treasure and a magic eel guards it night and day. Here also a life is in danger to the despoilers of the treasure for the eel is to Kill one of the seekers if he is there. The only time that is safe to dig for it is when the eel is absent and no one knows when he is absent. In the olden days an old shoemaker was the last person to dream of it. Many others dreamt of it before that but the prospects of life being at stake debarred many from carrying out the search. To one person it was made known in a dream that the magic eel would go for a drink to the Chapel Alt once a week at the exact time when the Elevation of the Sacred Host was taking place. The eel felt that no good christian would knowingly be absent from that part of the mass if in his power to be present or go seeking treasure so near the House of God and mass going on.
