A week before Easter Sunday the children would hide their spoons for the feast of eggs.

Long ago the old people used go out at the break of day on May eve morning and wear a red petticoat and go through the fields to their neighbours house and take away the produce of the farm for the year. It is said that no one should go into a field in the month of May because it is said that the fairies would cast a spell on the person.
Michaelmas
It is an old custom to kill a goose or a turkey or other fowl, it is called drawing the blood. When the blood comes forth it flows on the feathers and they are kept for the year and it is said that it will cure any pain.
St Martin
The blood is drawn from the fowl on that day also, it is on the 11th Nov.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
