  1. Travelling people still call to our home. These people have been doing so for many years. Some of them are very poor while more are fairly rich. They sell small articles porringers and gallons, laces, combs, paper flowers and small pictures. Some people buy from them more do not. They obtain their supplies in shops. These people are not always welcomed. They sleep in tents. Some beg their food in the houses around them. The alms they accept are sugar, tea, flour, potatoes. Some of them travel on foot and more of them travel in vans and carts. The McCaulys and McDonaghs are the best known. The family name that visit us most frequently are the McDonoghs. They dont tell stories and they dont bring news from distant places.
