  1. About ninty years ago a maternity nurse lived in the village of Ballinderreen. One night a man came on horse-back and asked her to attend a woman in her (confindmen) confinement. She agreed to go with him on condition that he would convey her home safely again.
    She sat behind him on the horse and he brought her to a cottage to a place she did not know.
    When she reached the house there was nobody there but the patient. An old man and an old woman were sitting beside the fire and they were crying
