- There are two forges in the parish. Mr Raftery and Mr O'Connor owns them. They are both situated on the road-side. The forge are roofed with Sheetiron.The door is made of two parts so they can pull it aside to let in horses and asses to be shod.The things the blacksmith uses for his work are anvil, sledge, hammer, and other things. He shoes horses and asses. He makes ploughs, harrows, spades, gates, shovel, and axes. Part of the work(continues on next page)
