- Cows
We have six cows on the farm. The names of them are "Eailín bán", [?] Ruadh", "Adarca cama", ''The Maoil cow'', [?] agus cosa bána. A byre is the name given to a cowhouse. The stalls for the cows are facing south there are seven low walls at right angles to the long walls and a chain suspends out of each side of the wall to which the cows are tied. The reserved stalls are used for outdoor cattle. The chains are tied round the cows' necks. After milking each cow my father makes the sign of the cross on its hips.Horses
