    And a few other men left Claremorris at two o'clock that night for Milltown. They were told to shoot any guard they met, but they met none going or coming from Milltown.
    Michael McGrath joined the Fenian brotherhood in the year of 1879. He took the oath from John O’Keane that lived in the house where P. Connacton lives now.
    10 men were supplied with rifles. Near Milltown we met fifty men. They were left one centary at the grand gates. Six Claremorris men were sent to make the grave. Others carried the coffin. Some surrounded the house. A girl came to the door she said Bodkin was in London.
    They left and went to the Stewarts’ house. A spy pulled him out of bed. He beged mercy and was forgiven. He resighened a short time after and left the country. Nolans’ Baelf Luke Dillon was told to give up the position he had. He refused and was shot near sometime after.
