If the moon is on its back and if there is a black ring around it, it is a sure sign of rain.
Everybody gets sleepy before rain. In fine weather if a spring well gets dry it is a sure sign of rain. Black clouds also come in the sky. Animals and birds also show signs of when rain is coming. The dog starts eating grass, and the cat sits on the hearthstone with his back to the fire. There are millions of insects flying very low and because of that the swallows fly low.
