In these old graveyards there are no erect memorials. The graves are covered with large flags on which the names of the dead, the date, and their age, are engraved, but those engravings are difficult to read for they are worn with time and traffic on them. There were no crosses to be seen either of iron, wood, or stone.
There is a small graveyard on the south-west of the parish, beside the road leading from Kiltimagh to Balla and it is sheltered with trees. In it unbaptized children were buried and the old(continues on next page)- Collector
