- Coopering
Coopering is the trade of making tubs and barrels. The man who carries on this trade is called a Cooper. There is a cooper in this parish. The cooper has to buy the staves and the hoops. When he is making a tub he has to have a lot of tools.Candle-making was a great trade too. When they were making the candles they had a mould and they would fill it with grease and cord was put into it and left there until hard and then it was taken out.- Collector
