- Forts or lioses as they are called were made by the fairies. There are lioses in Knockaneris, Coolbagh, Creggs and Kilmore. There is a passage underground going from one to another. Long ago people dreamt that there was gold in the lioses. One evening three men went digging it. When they had the hole nearly made they met a big stone and when they were lifting it up they heard a voice saying that if they would not let the stone there and fill in the hole or they would get killed by a bull.
