    Straw-ropes. They made straw ropes with a Cór-Sugáin. These ropes were used for tieing down thatch roofs, stacks etc.
    Coopers:- The Hanlons of Meenacarron were the coopers for this district.
    Bont of ropes: Ropes were made out of the bark of fir trees for bringing in sea-weed. They couldn't afford to get a boat. (This was known as a Calleac.
    Ropes were also made of lent.
    Whips: Whips were made out of hemp wax was rubbed on the hemp.
    Lime Kilns: They burned lime-stone. There were two kilns in Cullen. They also burned sea-shells.
    Forge: The present Johnnie Boyle's (blacksmith) grandfather had a wee forge in Cullen. He made nails from what was called mail rod which was bought in the shops.
