- There are four forges in this parish and they are all along the road. They have slate roofs and one fire. In hot weather they shoe horses outside. Shoeing cows has never been known in this parish. The smith repairs all sorts of tools such as picks, axes, harrows, ploughs. The door of the forge is an ordinary door. The forge is a great place for story telling and yarns.
