    in use now-a-days. These ploughs were suitable in fine sandy clay, but they broke easily when used in stoney rough ground.
    Any potato can be set if it has an eye. The potatoes with numerous eyes are cut into splits. Every split must have at least one eye and three are the right number. If the farmer wished to have small potatoes he sets the seed near hand but if they are set far apart they grow very large. A potato that is green or unsuitable for eating is good for seed.
    In this parish most farmers set their own potatoes but when they are digging some of them have what is called a friz. That is their neighbours gather to help them free of charge.
