    there is a place called Hasting's garden which is kept for cattle. When the cattle are bought they are put in to a yard and the toll used to be a penny a head. Pigs are kept in high street, sheep on the side of the street, and horses on the road. There is always a luck's penny paid on each animal sold. Firstly, the buyer is paid all the cost of the animal and then he is given back something "for luck". They usually clap the hands to close the bargain. The cattle are then marked - by clipping a little hair off or marking them with tar.
    The biggest fair of the year for cattle and sheep is in Creeslough on the 10th August. The fair is called the Lammas fair
