- (continued from previous page)The people used fast on Good Friday until twelve o'clock. Easter Sunday is the day for the eggs.
People used to put up a maypole on May eve and have it up for May day. They would tie bunches of primroses on the pole.
The bonfire on June 23rd are lit in honour of St John.
People have nuts and apples for Hallow eve. They have poundies for their supper. (Poundies are mashed potatoes with milk and butter in them).
On St Brigid's day the people make crosses out of rushes and hang them up above their doors, untill the following year when new ones are made. - About ten days before(continues on next page)
