  1. There are not very many stories about strong men in Fahan. These are the names of some men who were strong. Thomas White of Ballinahone, William Gamble also of Ballinahone, and Phil Doherty of Cuslaghkeel.
    Thomas White died two years ago. When he was young, he was offered a twenty stone bag of flour if he could carry it from a shop below Buncrana to his home. He did this and won the flour.
    William Gamble is a strong man too. He lifted a hundred weight in his mouth, and a half a hunder weight above his head for half a hour.
    Phil Doherty was a good mower
