- (continued from previous page)snowstorm. There was a big frost before the snow came. During the frost the Laurentic was sunk. It was so cold it froze the sailors' bodies together. In 1919 there was a drought. Some of the people had to cart water for miles. In 1927 there was a big wind storm.
- The Gort school is very old. It is situated on the main road leading from Derry to Buncrana. It was built in the year 1826. The first teacher we hear of was Mrs Smith. She taught over one hundred years ago. The pupils used to bring money for their teaching. The teacher use to stay a week(continues on next page)
