- There is a cave down at Ballybrack shore. it is said that two pipers were going up this cave with their golden pipes One of them lost his way and was smothered. His golden pipes have never been recovered. No one has ventured into the cave to look for them. The other piper made his way through the tunnel and came out on the side of a hill. This hill is about a mile beyond Ballybrack chapel. The opening through which the piper emerged has become covered up and no one, now, knows where it is. That hill has ever sine been known as Piper Hill.
