In the town of Cloughfin I once had plenty an engineer from the town of Cuba.
To spend his money he settled here,
To give employment he paid out plenty,
And put on fenced to White Cloughfin.
II
And those behind him that would not mind him I really tell you it would be a sin
Are glens and streams and lonely lanes.
And blooming fences so well closed in.
Any any lass would be counted happy if she had a lad who could count her in.
III
A range of mountains, spring water fountains
Where sheep and lambs they dwell therein
And the little lambs and their fleecy dams.
Do find great shelter in the covers therein.
IV
There is a tower above Cloughfin
Which God has left there to cap the wind,
No ventilation could not be straighter
Than that erected above White Cloughfin.
V
Theres one of our shepherds they call St. Paul
And from this grand tower is a view of all
In the highland mountains and Glenhouse plantings
And salmons prancing at the waterfall- Informant
