"TRAWN" in the saying Isn't he "thrawn" meaning isn't he "contrary" in the sense of contentious.
DUTHCHAS - "That's a duthchas in him" said of some trait or characteristic inherent in a man
SPRUDHOG - Take in some sprudhogs and put them in the fire
= Sod - This word has the same meaning as cadhran in other parts of Donegal
PRÁCAS - This word evidently means a mixture a mess
"FAIRIN" = féirin In this locality it is used in this way - What fairin are you going to bring from the fair - meaning sweets or the like.
EIREOG - meaning a chicken (female)
SMUR - We are going to have a "smur" of rain meaning some light rain. In these parts of Donegal they say smuran fearthainne meaning light rain(continues on next page)
