(Skerries, Co. Dublin.)There are two caves one big and one small on the coast of Loughshinny. Long ago smugglers used to go out to the sea and capture a ship and take its cargo if it was any good. They would bring the cargo into those caves and store it away in the rooms. But it is said that two of the smugglers were captured by the police and they told where their companions were hiding. About forty years ago a deaf and dumb man lived in the caves. He used to go to the village of Loughshinny for his his food. After a time he did not come at all.
