said ye Irishmen are wonderful; it is no wonder ye live such good lives when ye are able to banish the devil from under a barrel by means of straw and tar.
The minister gave Pat 40 for hunting the devil and the woman gave him 20 not to tell the minister that the man whom he thought was the devil was the man she had hidden under the barrel. Pat came home with his 60 and no one knew how he had got so rich as the he was only one month away but he soon told them the story.
