  1. In the parish of Cloonclare there are a good many graveyards some of which are in use yet and others which are not. Some of them contain very old crosses. Some of the crosses are made from iron, others are made from wood and others are made from stone. Certain families are buried within the ruins of the graveyards and others are put into vaults. Unbaptised children were buried in unconsecrated ground. Families still use certin graveyards though they may be further distant than the parish graveyard.
