- Local MonumentsThe only old building of any note in this district is a ruins in the ancient graveyard of Killargue. Tradition says that it appeared in its present position in one night and that it came from Carnomoiff that is where the present Protestant Church now stands.Beside this edifice there once was according to the legends of the older people a large flat stone "which went by the name of "Lea Fail". Any person who was in any trouble and went and told their story to this stone used to be comforted. So great was the belief in this that people came from all parts of the country to tell their grievances and pray for support.A man came on one occasion and spoke to the stone and told the very opposit to what was right. Immediately the stone split in two halves and arose into the air and one half buried itself in the ground in a place that can still be pointed out by residents in the locality.
