    district - one is eighty years and the others about 76.
    One of these - a man of 76 years is able to speak some "Gaedhilg" which was the common language of his parents. Two other people in the locality also can speak a few Irish phrases - these remember listening to their fathers and mothers conversing in Irish among themselves and their neighbours, when they were growing up. However, none of the people speak Irish to each other now; they cannot tell any Irish stories but some can relate tales in English.
    Houses were more numerous in my father's time than they are now; there are the ruins of seven houses around here, and there were people living in those when my father was a boy.
