    A barrel of an old gun, which was used in fighting at Ballinamuck, 1798...

    “A barrel of an old gun, which was used in fighting at Ballinamuck, 1798, remain in Coote Gelelan's(Cloonagheer) house yet. It was a flint gun.
    It was found in the battlefield one day and brought home by my grandfather(Coote Geelan). A bayonet was on the top of it and it is about 6 ft long and very awkward.
    It remained at our house for 6 or 7 years as a keepsake, and 5 years ago my father buried it for some reason and a few years ago he was ploughing in a field and ploughed it up. All the wood was
