- In this district some years ago there were many good men who were great in making articles such as the spinning of wool, making baskets and creels. My grandfather told me of many of those old crafts that he has seen.
he told me of an old woman named Mrs Cryan of Ardnaglass who was a great spinner of wool. She spun her own wool to make socks and jumpers. She could spin for days without feeling tired. She used to sell the wool when she would have it spun.
There were many local mills in those days. The people used to manufacture wool and make it into tweed. My grandfather told me of a mill that was in Ballincarrow(continues on next page)- Collector
