- For a headache a good wash in cold water is said to be a cure or a few cloves in a cup of tea.
For sore eyes wash them with black tea or hot milk. Some people believe this is also a cure for sore eyes, ten gooseberry thorns. Throw away the first one, and point the other nine to the sore eye, then leave them in a corner to wither.
