  1. One of the mountains on Tralee Bay derives its name from a chieftain who lived there long ago. It is told that a Connaught chieftain name Con - Rí settled at one time on one of the mountains facing Tralee.
    He joined a chieftain from Ulster in a raiding expedition to one of the Islands off the Scottish coast. They took what plunder they could get, and they also brought with them the daughter of the Local Chief.
    They fought over the maiden and Con - Rí won. During the battle he cut off his rivals hair. This was considered [?] at that time disgrace. He waited for twelve months until his hair grew, and then he travelled to Tralee. During his
