  1. During the famine years two men went up to wood in Clahane picking scallops. They had been forbidden to do so for some reason or other which is not known. When they went in the wood they lost their way and could not come out.
    One of them - Mr. OConnor got very ill and he was unable to pick the scallops.The second man, Mr. Walsh, stayed with his companion all the night.
    Early the following morning Mr. Walsh got out of the wood. He saw a small
