  1. In 1856 there was a severe snow storm in Tralee. It happened on the 21st of November. The night turned out very bad. Snow and hail fell heavily all that night.
    In the morning the snow was between fifteen and twenty feet high. People were unable to go to their work for two or three days.
    There are many numbers of sheep lost in many parts of the surrounding district. Cattle and fowl were frozen.
