- (continued from previous page)who brought me to the house of Mr. Doody who lived in an isolated place near Caher Village. A remnant of Irish seemed at that time to have lingered in the locality and it seemed to be a district rich in folklore.

Nó go raghadh na géaga i gcill dóibh ? i ngeimheall (perhaps)
Agus ísbirt ar beódhaibh.
Bhí feara Newtown 'gus Liostuathail,
'Gus as súd go h-Odhra Móra;
Ó Phobal na Sgeach bhí sluagh 'ca ann,
Agus ba shuarach é a ngníomh.
Muiris bacach níor dhíon leis tuama ?
Thos. Baxter ag caitheamh fuail uaidh;
Ag éisteacht lé lamhach mór
'S lé fuaim speal 's claidheamhNB.
