    lifter living in Castleisland. His name was Bill Connor. He used to lift a sack of meal in one hand and a stone of bran in an other hand and he used to trow them into a horses car. The people would not believe he was able to do so and he used to go around from place to place and get money. He would also lift the anviell at the forge. In the summer evenings when the people had all there work done. The young and old would gather together and come to see Bill Conner lifting heavy weights. He was noted as a famous weight lifter. He was also a great weight trower he could trow the half hundred he won alot of prizes in weight trowing and weight lifting.
