- The people who would be getting married would fix the match they would fix the fortune and they would go to see the land. The night before the marriage the woman would kill a gander. The man would go to the woman's house and they would eat the gander. The morning they would get married someone would fire an old shoe after them for good luck. They used have no motor cars long ago but drags to go the church.
There would be a dance at the man's house and the straw boys would would come and dance and play. It is very unlucky to meet a funeral or a red haired woman going to a marriage. They would go on the honeymoon the next week.
