    was taken off. Long ago hares used to take the butter. The hares used suck the cows and take the butter off the milk. These hares were old women. They could change themselves into hares. It is said if you would want to know who was taking the butter you would want to get a horse shoe with the one heat. Put it into the fire along with fire other irons and close all the doors and the woman would come into the street and the irons stuck in her breast.
