- People long ago used to take three meals a day Potatoes and bullsmilk were taken for dinner Farmers grew a lot of potatoes and oats at that time A mug of porridge and bullsmilk and a slice of oaten bread and sometimes chesnut bread
At night they would take a mug of porridge boiled in buttermilk and put a small piece of butter in it They would have a lot of sounds for their supper A potato cake sometimes that they would have for their breakfast Sounds were made in this way. A piece of oaten cake was put in a bag Then it was boiled in water and then it was taken out and cup up Salt was then mixed in it Then it was let cool for a while People had to work very hard at that time to make their living They would have to out working before breakfast every morning The old people got tea twice a year People would eat from a big tin dish left on a stand on the middle of the floor Eggs were eaten sometimes too People had to cut their oats with(continues on next page)
