- Well field! because there is a well in it.
Bush field! because there is a bush in it.
Fort field! because there is a fort in it.
Carraig Dub! because there is a rock in it.
Casie Dub! because there is a stream at the foot of it and a pass across it. - The landlord for this district was Lord Tennyson. In the year 1649 County Monaghan was planted by the English and tenants were put to live on it. They had to pay rent to the landlord and if they didn't pay it they were evicted. Tennyson was not a bad landlord because we never hear of any people he evicted.
