  1. (continued from previous page)
With each fair lass, they take a glass
    And pay the landlords bill
They reckon and pay without delay
    The boys from Carn Hill
In Monaghan Town of high renown
    Their credit we uphold
    In Newbliss and Clones
    Their credit we unfold
And on the straight way through Ballybay
    Through Shercock and Cootehill
The voice I'll raise and sound the praise
Of the boys round Carn Hill
Wherever I go with grief and woe
I cast a look of pride
On the houses of my ancestors
Where my parents lived and died.
May the angels guard their old churchyard
And its hallowed graves they fill
For them I'll pray both night and day
    When far from Carn Hill.
