- There were no roads in olden times and the people used have to shoulder the coffin through fields and paths from Brida to the burial ground of Cnockane (Churchtown). There is a place in Coom Shanara called Plás na Marbh where they used to rest.
Later on they used to put the coffin in a common car with three or four of the best criers sitting on top of the coffin caoining and crying.- Collector
