    knew that the lurgadan would try and trick him in some way Then he let the lurgadan go and he vanished in a second. Then Paddy went home and hardly slept a wink for thinking of the gold in the crock. Paddy was up at daybreak & took his pick and shovel & went to the field where the daisy was When Paddy reached the field he found the field white with daisies but the mark Paddy put on the daisy helped him and after some trouble he found the daisy. He had bent the stem the evening before. Paddy started to work and soon unearthed the crock. He opened the crock and found it full of shining gold. Paddy took home the crock and put it ahide. He filled his pockets & went to the village where he bought lots of goods. He also had a few drinks at the public house. Next day he found the shop-keepers and the publican at the door demanding their goods. Paddy was astounded and asked them did he not give them gold. They said when
